A healthy guinea pig is a happy guinea pig. Good habits are ideal to long term health.

Some good habits to follow:

- Drink water first thing after waking up and before meals for better digestion (Am I hydrated test?)
- Minimize highly processed packaged foods and red meat
- Learn to cook and eat balanced clean diet rich with dark green leafy vegetables and fruits
- Keep body moving (walk, jog or run 2-3 times weekly to keep your heart muscles strong)

 
- Keep brain active (cognitive activities such as Chess, Duolingo, Mahjong, Sudoku, Scrabble)

- Get 7-8 hours sleep every night (bed by 10 pm)
- Do meditation / breathing exercises

 - Brush and floss (good dental health) after every meal
